Program - Texas
Master Gardeners
Our program will be done by Nancy
Wilten,
Texas Master Gardener (www.dcmga.com).
Nancy will delight us with
her knowledge of growing
orchids. She has been an
active orchid grower since
the mid-70's. Since
returning to Dallas in 1983,
she has moved from growing
orchids in her home to
becoming a greenhouse
grower. Having lived in a
variety of climates, Nancy
is familiar with the
challenges of gardening in
the Dallas climate. Come
learn and bring your tough
gardening questions for
Nancy!
The meeting will be at
Salerno's on
Tuesday, April 8th at 6:30pm.
The cost of the meeting is
$15 if you RSVP, which
includes dinner, payable by
cash or check to "WOFM".
The cost at the door without
an RSVP is $17.
Door prizes for guests and
new members will be given
away during the meeting. We
also sell raffle tickets at
the meeting to benefit a
different local school each
month. Raffle tickets are
$2 each or
3 for $5, so you may want to
bring some spare change.
If you know you are coming,
you can make a reservation
for yourself and your guests
on the website, anytime at:
Meeting RSVP.
Reservations by phone should
be called in by noon the day
BEFORE the meeting to
Marilynn Payne at
972-969-3866.
Your reservation helps us to
better plan the meeting, and
it saves you $2! Please
remember: if you make a
reservation, you will need
to pay $15 for the meeting,
even if you are unable to
attend. If something comes
up, you can cancel your
reservation up until noon
the day of the meeting.

The Women of Flower
Mound
General Meeting
March 11, 2008
The Women of Flower
Mound met on March 11,
2008 at
Salerno’s. President
Wendy Trayler called the
meeting to order at
approximately 7:00 PM.
Wendy welcomed those
attending, and
introduced 6 guests.
Lifetime members were
introduced. The
Sunshine Committee
requested continued
prayer for Sylvia
Imboden’s daughter. The
treasurer’s report was
available on the various
tables for review. A
motion was made to
accept the report;
Susan Coates moved to
approve, and Carol Anne
Crossan seconded. Wendy
advised that several
positions on the
2008/2009 Board are
available, and asked
members to consider
serving on the Board for
next year.
Susan Coates presented
the program for this
evening, a delightful
style show featuring new
looks for spring and
proms, with fashions
from Belk’s Department
Store. Following the
program, Wendy announced
that the theme for the
2009 Fashion Show will
be “Paris in the
Springtime.”
Split-the-pot went to
Tracy Woods and a local
elementary school.
Prizes were also awarded
to guest June Caviness
and member Kelly Fehrs.
Recipient of a Dooney &
Burke handbag door prize
from Belk’s was Kenda
Nelson. Kenda donated
the bag back to the
organization to be used
in next year’s silent
auction fund raiser.
Members were reminded
that the deadline for
scholarship entries is
April 1, according the
committee chairman
Andrea Deeley. With all
business and program
concluded, the meeting
was adjourned at
approximately 8:30
PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Cheryl Gist, Secretary
