2017-18 Committees – Committee Chairs

Heartfelt thanks to those who have volunteered to Chair our Committees. Whether a community event we support, a fundraising event, or for our annual scholarships, our Committee Chairs are the lifeblood of our organization. We couldn’t do it without you!

We are a busy organization who needs your help to ensure the success of our events and community activities. The main qualifications are enthusiasm and time!

Volunteer opportunities are listed below. Jump in by contacting any WOFM Officer today, or indicate your willingness to help on your membership form. 

Christmas Home Tours – Jamie Augenstein-White, chair

Our first major FUNdraiser of the year! Volunteers are needed to help sell tickets, be stationed at the homes along the tour, greet guests and decorate for the luncheon.

Santa Cops – Elaine Shearer, Chair

Helping Flower Mound children in need.  Volunteers needed to solicit donations from local businesses and individuals, and purchase gifts.

Wine Tasting Event – Position Open

One of our FUNdraising events! Volunteers needed to pour wine, greet guests, decorate,  pre-event set-up and after-event clean up; work the check in table the evening of the event.

Easter Sunrise on the Mound Chair- Position Open

Contact local donut shops for donations for the sunrise service on the Mound.  Work the morning of the service, assisting with setup and giving out donuts to participants.

Independence Day Children’s Parade Chair- Position Open

Kids of all ages come with their bikes, tricycles, wagons and strollers decorated in red, white and blue to ride in the parade.  The Women of Flower Mound will join other volunteers to stuff over 3,000 hot dogs and distribute them to the participants.

Fashion Show – Angie Cox, Co-Chair

This is our main FUNdraiser for the year.  We will need people to help sell tickets to the show, coordinate fashions and models.  Funds are raised through a silent auction.  We will contact local businesses to donate items for the auction.  There are many different volunteer opportunities to make this huge event a success.

Scholarships – Elaine ShearerJane Fouty, Co-Chairs

Assist in reviewing scholarship applications. Deliver application packets to area school counselors.  Assist in the review process to select current year scholarship recipients.
