2019-2020 Committees & Volunteers

Volunteers are the Lifeblood of the Women of Flower Mound! Heartfelt thanks to those who have volunteered to chair our committees, or have volunteered their time for our organization.

We will take initial Chairperson and volunteer sign-ups at our August and September meetings; after that, we will post volunteer positions as needs arise on this page and on our Facebook page.

Volunteers Needed

Do you want to help your community? Do you want to do something that is satisfying and FUN? Then become a Women of Flower Mound volunteer!

We are a busy organization who needs your help to ensure the success of our events and community activities. The main qualifications are enthusiasm and time!

Volunteer opportunities are listed below. Get involved by contacting any WOFM Officer today.

Christmas Home Tours (December 2019)

Our first major FUNdraiser of the year! Volunteers are needed to help sell tickets, be stationed at the homes along the tour, greet guests and decorate for the luncheon.

Christmas Parade & Tree Lighting Ceremony (December 2019)

We need volunteers to help WOFM serve hot chocolate at the town of Flower Mound’s Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony. This event, in it’s 29th year, takes place in the evening and features choir performances, pictures with Santa Claus, carriage rides, kids’ activities, petting zoo, local vendors, food trucks, and more.

Wine Tasting Event (February 2020)

One of our FUNdraising events! Volunteers needed to pour wine, greet guests, decorate,  pre-event set-up and after-event clean up; work the check in table the evening of the event.

Easter Sunrise on the Mound Chair (April 12, 2020)

Contact local donut shops for donations for the sunrise service on the Mound.  Work the morning of the service, assisting with setup and giving out donuts to participants.

Fashion Show (Date TBD)

This is our main FUNdraiser for the year.  We will need people to help sell tickets to the show, coordinate fashions and models.  Funds are raised through a silent auction.  We will contact local businesses to donate items for the auction.  There are many different volunteer opportunities to make this huge event a success.

Scholarships (TBD)

Assist in reviewing scholarship applications. Deliver application packets to area school counselors.  Assist in the review process to select current year scholarship recipients.

Independence Day Children’s Parade Booth Chair (Jul 4, 2020)

The Women of Flower Mound will join other volunteers to distribute hot dogs or popcorn to the participants at this popular Town of Flower Mound event. Kids of all ages come with their bikes, tricycles, wagons and strollers decorated in red, white and blue to ride in the parade.
