Laura Thornquist is the owner of the MyDFWmommy.com website. She has two
children, 12 and 5 and has been married to her husband for 17 years. She was hugely impacted by the economy in late 2008 with job losses in Kansas City and a transfer to Flower Mound, Tx. That's when she discovered a new frugal way of living. After learning valuable coupon strategies she became hooked on "frugality"! It has changed her life
and she committed her new career to sharing with others that it's cool to be frugal. Besides, you have more money left at the end of the month to save and/or spend
(your choice)!
She was in the television news industry for over 20 years and decided to get out to
have more normal hours and a near normal routine for my family. She has worked in markets as an anchor in Billings, MT, Denver, CO and Kansas City, MO. She also
partners with another blogger in building similar my city mommy sites across the
country. Right now the My City Mommy network is 25 strong and growing.

The Women of Flower Mound (WOFM) is a non-profit, 501c(3) organization serving the needs of the community of Flower Mound, Texas since 1975, as well as allowing women to develop new friendships. The club is open to residents of Flower Mound and the surrounding communities.
Our club year starts in September. Yearly Membership Dues are $35.00 starting on September 1, 2010 forward. Dues are $25.00 (add $5.00 for new members) only thru August 31, 2010. Membership dues are $12.00 for seniors (60+).

Goals
The primary goal of The Women of Flower Mound is to raise money to provide scholarships for Flower Mound graduating seniors.
Our scholarship program was established in 1988. Proceeds from our annual fashion show, and other volunteer activities, provide scholarships to graduating seniors.
Donations from local businesses make the fashion show a great success each year.

Our organization participates in fund raising activities throughout the year to benefit our community.
We also volunteer for community activities such as the Easter Sunrise Service on the Mound, the Independence Day Children's Parade, and the Holiday Stroll.
